It matters because I really, really want to know what it tastes like!
[Famous last words if maniacal laughing doesn't count? Kaden might seem silly and handsome and easygoing and handsome on the outside, but there's something about 'prey' that just kicks his foxiness up a few hundred notches. case in point, he's managed to sink his fangs into this giant 'fish.' Percival's right to be impressed, and Kaden would like it if he remembered that feeling. Kaden could die horribly and come back as a ghost and he'd still expect praise for his performance today.
Of course, now that he's underwater, dying might actually happen? For the second time in his 'life' as it were. He manages to sink his fangs into the serpent's neck, tearing flesh each time, his powerful leg scratching wherever he can get them...but is it just him or did that serpent just wrap its tail around about five of Kaden's own? It looks like the serpent is going to try and drown him. A challenge! And not a fun one.
But there's someone else in the water now? Oh. Oh, it's the guy from before. A little help here?]
[ If only he'd had enough time to tell him that he has absolutely zero interest in eating whatever this is. Seriously...
Percival isn't t he most spectacular swimmer. He can manage just fine, as well as any human can within the water, but it simply isn't his forte. Still, he moves as quickly as he can, plunging deeper and deeper into the water until he catches sight of the fox and what look to be remnants of the giant serpent. He ignores the urge to resurface and catch air, instead drawing his sword and slashing wherever he can on the serpent's body-- just enough so that its hold releases.
Other beasts encircle them, but his priority is to get them both to the surface. The giant fox, as he is, is likely too large for him to drag him to the surface alone, but he does push Kaden's transformed form upward as much as he can.
And he only does enough work so that the stupid fox can have whatever chunks of meat he was so determined to procure. ]
[Kaden loves swimming! He loves diving. He loves frolicking in the waves. Maybe he barks at them when they surprise him, who knows? This is a little different, though. Even if he let go of the serpent (is it dead? is it alive? he can't really tell), he'd still have to deal with how it tangled around his tails like that.
And there sure are more coming. Huh. And the salt stings his eyes. He's about to consider changing back, but that also feels like it could be a bad idea. Luckily for him, he doesn't have to! The serpent's death throes cease after a few more slashes from Percival's blade, and Kaden manages to tear off the fin he'd bitten into on his way back to the surface.
And he also kicks Percival right in the face with his hind paw? Or he thinks he did. He felt something. It was probably bad. Either way, Kaden is heading to the boat.]
[ The goal is now to simply swim as fast as he possibly could, to outrun the rest of the serpents or perhaps avoid even drawing their attention. That chance looks more and more grim as the seconds pass, however, given that the surrounding creatures are catching the strong scent of blood.
And good lord, that sure is a painful kick to the face. He sputters and jerks around angrily, in confusion, and now... he's the one that needs help. :(
The hit is enough to stun him for a split second, but a split second is all he needs for another beast to coil and constrict around his foot, entrapping him. ]
[Haha, it almost felt like he hit something. Well, whatever. Kaden breaches, proudly depositing a fin on the boat before turning around. He's just about to transform back into his human form.]
Wasn't I impressive? ...Mostly impressive?
[But wait. Where is Percy? Kaden treads water (the foxy paddle) before he realizes...ah. That thing his foot struck...He takes a deep breath and dives back under the water. It's a long swim back down, but that red hair is impossible to miss! Even when it's wet and not as vibrant. One second, Percival's foot is snared, and the next the snare isn't holding him place anymore. It just takes a few swift bites to gnaw off the end of a sea serpent's tail, and it's his turn to nudge this guy back to the surface!
Hopefully before the sea serpent can trap Kaden. This has all been a horrible idea. He'd bark at Percival to move, but he can't, he's underwater.]
